The skin is the body's largest organ and absorbs much of what is placed on it and also interfaces with the environment. Research has shown that up to 60% of what you put on your skin is absorbed into the blood stream. It's important to be fully aware of what's in the products you use and that honesty and transparency is key.
In a lifetime we will come into contact with approximately 75,000 chemicals many of which have never been properly tested on humans, which have come into play in the last half century. We absorb a great number of these new synthetic chemicals from our food, our toiletries, and our own immediate environment.

 Gotu Kola / Centella Asiatica
Is a mild analgesic, helping to relieve pain and soreness. It is also reputed to have detoxifying effects.
 Calendula / Calendula Officinalis / Marigold
Is considered the queen amongst plants at Spiezia, because it has extraordinary anti-inflammatory and healing properties when used topically. It is suitable to help in the treatment of a number of ailments including eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. We make our extract ourselves in our workshop to ensure it meets our specific quality standards and that the level and efficacy is always maximized.
 Arnica / Arnica Montana
Has well known neuralgic properties. It is especially effective at soothing aching joints, muscle spasms and muscular aches and pains and its use has been recorded as early as 180BC when the Romans used it to help ease the pain of broken bones.
 Propolis / Propolis Cera
From the Greek meaning “to protect the town” propolis is produced by bees to sterilize and protect the hive nursery from infection. It is effective against many types of bacterial infection and is especially useful when treating acne, inflamed spots and cuts and grazes that won’t heal. It is also useful in more severe case of psoriasis where calendula is not sufficient.
 Grapefruit Seed Extract / Citrus X Paradisi
Is used in all of our balms and creams to protect against oxidation, keeping the products fresh.
 Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil / Cinnamomum Zeylanicum
Is a stimulating oil, helping to improve circulation and targeting fatty cellulitic deposits
Apricot Kernel Oil / Prunus Armeniaca
Is similar to Almond Oil in its constituents being high in vitamins B1, B2, B6 and beta carotene. It is slightly richer in texture and is used to soften delicate, ageing skin.
